Shihan Dennis Queaño Aquino: A Legacy of Dedication and Excellence
Shihan Dennis Queaño Aquino, 7th Dan Black Belt and Founder of the Philippine Karatedo League (PKL), embodies the spirit of perseverance and passion for martial arts. His journey began at the tender age of four when he was introduced to karate to help manage his asthma. What started as a health remedy soon blossomed into a lifelong dedication, as he trained rigorously under his uncles and then formally under Sensei Rolly Mendoza. By age ten, Shihan Dennis earned his junior black belt, marking the beginning of an illustrious career that spans multiple martial arts disciplines, including arnis, taekwondo, aikido, and judo.
Shihan Dennis's philosophy extends beyond the dojo. His karate training taught him invaluable life lessons—resilience, humility, and a positive mindset—that continue to guide him in all aspects of life. Today, he is the proud owner of a chain of karate dojos and the Head Master of PKL, the largest multi-style karate organization in the Philippines, with 45 affiliated schools nationwide.
Respect for Individuality and Coexistence: PKL respects each member's unique journey, celebrating individuality while nurturing a sense of community. We believe that every karateka's path is valuable and that our diversity makes us stronger.
Collaboration Across Borders: We are committed to promoting friendship and collaboration across countries to elevate the practice of karate and the personal growth of our members. PKL is more than just an organization; it's a global network dedicated to the betterment of karate and the people who practice it.
At PKL, we know that success in karate—and in life—requires more than individual effort. It takes a community of like-minded individuals working together, pushing each other to be better, and celebrating each other's victories. From local tournaments to international competitions, PKL is proud to be a home for champions who achieve more together than they ever could alone.
